  • *1 Among domestic LTE services (as of February 22, 2012, source: eAccess)
  • *2 Maximum download speeds of 75 Mbps and maximum upload speeds of 25 Mbps are only available in some areas. Where communications are available outside these areas, maximum download speeds of 37.5 Mbps and maximum upload speeds of 12.5 Mbps are available. The maximum communication speed is the maximum speed as provided for in the respective standard, and is not guaranteed as the effective speed.
  • *3 Calculated based on whether communications are possible at the municipal offices of each city, town and village.
  • *4 Major cities such as Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka: Tokyo's 23 wards, Chiba City, Saitama City, Yokohama City, Kawasaki City, Nagoya City, Kyoto City, Osaka City, Sakai City, Kobe City.
  • *5 In EMOBILE G4 service areas, maximum download speeds of 42 Mbps (maximum download speeds of 21 Mbps or 14.4 Mbps depending on the area) and maximum upload speeds of 5.8 Mbps are available. Maximum upload speeds of 5.8 Mbps are only available in some areas. Where communications are available outside these areas, maximum upload speeds are 1.4 Mbps (or up to 2.0 Mbps in some areas) or 384 kbps. The maximum communication speed is the maximum speed as provided for in the respective standard, and is not guaranteed as the effective speed.
  • *6 "Covered population" is calculated by multiplying the area coverage rate by the population for each "Town/Village Code" established by the Japan Geographic Data Center. After the figures have been added up on a nationwide basis, the total is divided by the national population to calculate the population coverage. (The Basic Resident Register is referenced for population figures.)
